The Experimental
Educational Studio for Electroacoustic Music (EESEM) at the Mykola
Lysenko Lviv National Music Academy was officially opened in
September 2014. Despite the fact that the Studio is so "young",
many among ukrainian musicians and composers of electroacoustic music
claim that EESEM has the potential to become one of the main centers
of electroacoustic music in Ukraine.
EESEM created
through collaboration of the Mykola Lysenko LNMA, Faculty of Music
and Art of the Tromso University (Norway) with participation of NGO
"Art Association "NURT". The implementation of such
large-scale project was made possible thanks to the financial support
from the Norwegian government as part of the SIU program.
As the name suggests -
the main task is to ensure educational process and create an
opportunity for creative experiments. The main activity of the EESEM
is not only a studying different programs for the audio-recording and
sound processing. Important aspect is also providing opportunities
for young students of composition to creative experiment not only in
the "pure" electro-acoustic music, but also in the field of
audio-visual art and performance.
